Ability Counts

As part of the FA’s commitment to ensure that Disability football is recognised at the highest level of football, Liverpool County FA supports the Ability Counts initiative with Liverpool and Everton Disability Football Departments.

Through this initiative we have made football accessible for all the following levels of ability: Blind, Partially-Sighted, Deaf and Hearing Impaired (men and women’s teams), Cerebral Palsy, Learning Disabilities and Amputee football. Both clubs are fully represented within the NW Ability Counts League and the Manchester FA Ability Counts League and continue to develop further opportunities through their respective Disability Programmes

As Disability football continues to be more represented at a local club level within Merseyside through our network of Charter Standard Development and Community Clubs, Liverpool County FA will be working to develop a locally based Ability Counts league. By providing support to existing club coaches through the Coaching Disabled Footballers course and providing practical experience through the School to Club Link programme, we hope to develop a skilled workforce that is both competent and confident in delivering Disability football sessions.
