Within the Merseyside region the amount of females participating in all formats of football has increased dramatically. We have an abundance of established girl’s and women’s clubs, female coaches, referees and volunteers and it is our Women and Girls Football Development Officers’ aim to support, encourage and promote football to all females in the region through an abundance of initiatives.
Within the Merseyside area we have an extremely successful and established LCFA Girls League along with a Developmental Women’s League. The Girl’s League caters for four age groups, Under 10s, Under 12s, Under 14s and Under 16s and play weekly on Saturday mornings with 51 teams participating. The LCFA Women’s League currently has 5 teams playing weekly in competitive matches and has progressed successfully since its establishment.
