Women and Girls

Football is the fastest growing and most popular female sport in the country. FA research has shown that 1.1million girls and 250,000 women played football in 2007, with a 30% increase in the amount of qualified female coaches in the country also.

Want to become a referee? the girls league are always looking for female referee’s, there are standard courses, or sometimes Female only courses for further information contact the referee’s department.

Leagues

There is a Liverpool county FA girl’s league which is currently involved in the FA charter standard pilot scheme. This pilot ensures at least 60% of teams within the league are charter standard, the league is signed up to the national respect programme and has a 4 year development plan for the league.

The league runs 4 age groups – U10, U12, U14, and U16. The league runs on Saturday mornings at a central venue. For further information on the league, please contact: Derek Morgan derekmorgan14@aol.com  

Liverpool county FA women’s league will become a competitive league, season 2009 – 2010, the league will be signing up to the women’s pyramid of football which enables the champions of the county league to gain promotion into the North west women’s regional league.
