In the summer of 2007, Liverpool County FA successfully confirmed in conjunction with Sport England the establishment of two FA Girl’s Centre of Excellences at Everton and Liverpool.
The purpose of the Centres is to identify players of outstanding ability and place them in a technical and education programme designed to produce excellence in conjunction with personal development (LTPD). All Centres’ within the North West region participate against one another in weekly non competitive matches. Centre trials are organised at the beginning of each season with further trials can also be organised during the season in conjunction with Centre Officials. For more information on the objectives of the Girls’ Centre of Excellence please download the FA Rules and Regulations document or for more information please contact Nicky O’Donnell.
Merseyside has 2 girls Centre of Excellences; Everton Fc & Liverpool Fc. Players are selected by a trial process in June each year, from a pool of players put forward from grassroots clubs & schools. The squads play in a North West centre of excellence league.
