Five new full time County Football Coaches have been appointed and commenced delivery in the North West and West Riding.
Cheshire, Liverpool, Manchester, Isle of Man and West Riding County FA’s have all matched or sourced external funding to match a £10,000 grant from Tesco and the National Sports Foundation to enable the creation of these new roles.
The roles will specifically focus on development of girls and women’s football in the County with the aim of increasing the number of teams, participation, coaches, volunteers and young leaders in line with the National Game Strategy.
This is a very exciting development for the region who had previously no football specific Community Sports Coaches.
Steve Rawes – Liverpool County FA – steve.rawes@liverpoolfa.com
Steve is a new addition to the Football Development team in 2009. Steve’s role is to support the development team to deliver their programmes and initiatives within the areas of Women and Girls, working in deprived communities and Workforce Development. This is an exciting addition for county FA that will no doubt add value to a range of initiatives including School-Club Link, Charter Standard, Disability football, Social inclusion and leadership programmes.
