Charter Standard Community Club Seneley and Garswood celebrate as Carole Mappin, Team Manager and Minutes Secretary is awarded St. Helens District Sports Council 2008 Sports Club Volunteer Of The Year!!!!.
Carole has been an active member of Seneley & Garswood Juniors F.C. for the past eight years within the Club as both Team Manager for one of the clubs present Under 16 squads (a squad she has managed and coached for the past eight years) and as Club Minutes Secretary. Although this is her last year as Team Manager she has already volunteered her services to continue in an active role as Minutes Secretary and also as an active member of the Clubs Executive Committee, a post she has held for the past four years. Her expertise and professionalism in her role as Club Minutes Secretary and decision making in her Executive Committee Member role has afforded her the well deserved title of ‘St Helens District Sports Council 2008 Sports Club Volunteer of the year’.
Fellow Seneley and Garswood officials Club Treasurer Dave Cunliffe and Secretary Tom Nugent travelled to the Merseyside Sports partnership Sporting Champions Event held at the Adelphi Hotel on 17th October 2008 to support Carole in her nomination as Merseyside Sports Club volunteer of the Year. Joined by members of the County FA the club sat proud as Carole joined fellow winners from each Local Authority across Merseyside to gain the recognition she deserves in front of the sporting community of Merseyside.
The evening was topped off perfectly when staunch Evertonian Dave won a fully signed Everton shirt from an array of top raffle prizes on offer. A much needed bonus after listening to the past glories of Liverpool F.C. from guest speaker Phil Thompson!
