The FA and Liverpool County FA are organising the North West Under18s Learning Difficulties Trials and we would like you to identify players to attend the trials.
The event will take place on:
Wednesday 3rd February
10.00am – 1.00pm (10.00 – 10.30am Registration)
Liverpool Soccer Centre, L4 9XP
The event will act as a preparation in selecting a squad for the Home Country Learning Difficulties Tournament 2010 and the FA want to select 18-20 players to train as this squad.
We will be targeting male players aged 15-17 years old and are asking Schools/Colleges/Clubs to nominate 3 of their most talented LD players and complete and return the attached nomination form by Friday 22nd January.
The classification will be as follows:
• Players with a Learning Disability will have an IQ less than 75 and have supported education / educational statement. If this information is not accessible a letter from a School AENCO, College’s LDD or Learning Support Department stating that the player has a Learning Disability will be accepted. The letter does not need to state what the disability is.
• Dyslexia is recognised as a learning difficulty and not a learning disability. Players who have Dyslexia but no associated learning disability will not be permitted to play.
• ADHD is a medical condition. Players with ADHD and no associated learning disability will not be permitted to play.
• All selected players will be subject to the UKSAPLD national eligibility criteria and must pass to play in the tournament if selected for the National Squad.
On receiving nomination forms, players will receive a confirmation letter detailing required time of arrival etc.
