To support your journey, The FA provides a range of learning opportunities for you to engage with. From events in your region to online resources to in situ mentoring, you can access the development support that will make the biggest impact to you and your role.

Tuesday 26th March 2019
INTRODUCTION TO FUTSAL COACHING WITH NEIL LUCAS
6.30pm – 9.30pm

Futsal is the official 5 a-side version of football approved by both FIFA & UEFA. The sport originated in South America and is now the fastest growing indoor sport in England. Many renowned footballers have played the sport including Messi, Ronaldo, Neymar, Suarez, Coutinho and De Bruyne. All credit the game for improving their technical ability, decision making and overall skill level. The evening will be delivered by Neil Lucas who is the NW Futsal mentor and has been coaching Futsal for over 10 years.

Tuesday 2nd April 2019
FA LEVEL 3 (UEFA B) PREPARATION COURSE - PART TWO
6.30pm – 9.30pm

This two-part CPD event has been specifically designed to allow those coaches who are wishing to apply for the FA Level 3 (UEFA B) coaching coaching course an insight into what is required of them whilst participating on it. The two evenings will cover aspects from the four blocks of the course specifically focusing on - Who We Are, How We Play, How We Coach, How We Support, The Future Player and the overall course project.

Wednesday 10th April 2019 – 7pm-9pm @ Gym & Football at Jeffrey Humble
GOALKEEPING CPD DELIVERED BY LIVERPOOL FC WOMEN GK COACH CHRIS KIRKLAND
Goalkeeping CPD specifically for coaches coaching in the female game
Whether you're a goalkeeping specific coach or a complete novice this workshop will have something for everyone. With 18 years playing professional football, the event will be delivered by ex-Liverpool goalkeeper and current Liverpool FC Women's Goalkeeping Coach Chris Kirkland.

We anticipate this event will prove hugely popular so book early to avoid disappointment.

Please note the CPD event will take place outdoors on a 3G pitch.

Tuesday 7th and Monday 13th May 2019
DEVELOPING COACHES THROUGH MENTORING
6.30pm - 9.30pm
Liverpool County FA, Walton Hall Avenue, Liverpool, L4 9XP
This course is designed to support those who wish to develop their mentoring skills, to understand the role of the mentor, to develop the interpersonal skills required to become an effective mentor as well as developing reflection as a learning tool. It supports participants to develop skills in a safe and positive environment.

PRE-SEASON TRAINING
6.30pm – 9.30pm 

All coaches at any level are looking for ways to improve their pre-season programme – we believe this CPD event can help this. We aim to provide coaches with new ideas, insight and research on how to design an effective pre-season programme for your players, team or club.

Female-Only CPD Sessions

This season, Liverpool County FA will also be offering a selection of female-only CPD workshops to enhance the skills and knowledge of female coaches working within the grassroots game on Merseyside.

Wednesday 20th March 2019
GAME MANAGEMENT WITH DEBORAH DILLWORTH & STACEY McMAHON
6.30pm – 9.30pm
This is a female only CPD event that will be delivered by two of our female FA coach mentors. All coaches at any level are looking for ways to improve the match day experience whether that's for the players, parents or themselves creating a positive match day experience is important, especially for the development of players. We believe this CPD event can help this as we aim to provide coaches with new ideas, insight and examples of good practice on how to design an effective match day plan.

Wednesday 15th May 2019
IMPORTANCE OF PLAN, DO, REVIEW WITH DEBORAH DILLWORTH & STACEY McMAHON
6.30pm – 9.30pm

This is a female only CPD event that will be delivered by two of our female FA coach mentors. The England DNA coaching philosophy is based around the Plan, Do, Review process which has been adopted and filtered down to the grassroots game. This workshop will give coaches an insight into the importance of following this model and how beneficial it will be for their own coaching development.

FAQs

Absolutely. The FA runs events all over the country and for all levels. To explore events please visit our national CPD events page here.

If you're an FA Level 1 or 2 learner, continuous professional development hours are optional and so there is no longer a requirement for licensing .

If you're a UEFA qualified coach, however, you are required to complete 15 hours of CPD every three years to maintain your licence, which The FA recommends is best achieved by completing 5 hours per season
