Five Referees Promoted to Level 3

This promotion marks the first step into the semi-professional game as match officials.

Congratulations to Liam Corrigan, Carl Rooney, Joe Pettit, Dan Locker and Mike Herzog.

Each referee is a member of the Liverpool County FA development group and have progressed through the LCFA Referee Academy scheme, which is run at both Everton and Liverpool.

Dave Horlick, Referee Development Manager at Liverpool County FA, said: “We are proud of the referees’ achievement. They have all worked hard to reach this level and we at the Liverpool FA wish them all the very best as they carry on up the refereeing ladder. I am sure the work they have done their coaches and mentors over the years at Liverpool County FA has helped them on the way.

“In my view, all five are very talented officials who can do very well in the refereeing world. We wish them all good luck. The board of Liverpool County FA is very supportive of all areas of football development and will carry on investing in both referee academies – and football in general.”
