County FA Enhances Safeguarding Team

Following the recent recruitment of a Safeguarding Administration Assistant, Liverpool County FA now has a team that can monitor and support...
The County FA is responsible for the safeguarding and welfare of children and vulnerable adults involved in grassroots football across Merseyside – and runs series of courses and training events for clubs. In addition to this, Liverpool FA handles safeguarding issues and manages the new Criminal Records Check process.

It is now a mandatory requirement for all youth football clubs and leagues to have a qualified Welfare Officer in place before they can affiliate to Liverpool County FA.

The County FA works closely with The FA to ensure that all the relevant safeguarding children policies and practices are being adopted by all our youth leagues and clubs throughout the county, in order to protect children and the interests of our clubs.

The FA has a simple three-part approach to help everyone:

-    Getting the right people involved
Carrying our references and CRB checks

-    Creating a safe environment
Codes of conduct, education and best practice

-    Promoting clear systems to deal with any concerns, policy and procedures
