The Big Pink Breast Cancer Awareness Football Cup Confirmed

Liverpool Homeless Football Club has once again teamed up with Liverpool County FA, City Safe and The Steve Morgan Foundation to bring together...
Taking place on Wednesday 11 October at Powerleague Liverpool between 10.00am and 3.00pm, the Cup is formed of a five-a-side competition for women’s teams of all backgrounds and ability.

With a specific focus on raising awareness around breast cancer, the day will also include stalls offering support and advice on various cancer care and support agencies.

Teams will be divided into two groups; one comprising of teams that play regularly and another group consisting of players that have either not played in a while or never played at all.

Whilst the day’s competition is in support of a very serious subject, the emphasis is that everybody has fun playing. Everybody taking part will receive a medal.

Anna Farrell, Football Development Officer, said: “Sadly, more and more women are diagnosed, fighting and recovering from breast cancer.

If we can use football as a platform to educate females on how to spot signs and symptoms of breast cancer, I’m sure the day will be a success.”

Whether it be a team made up of friends, work-mates or family, Liverpool County FA is encouraging people to register and join us in standing up to breast cancer.

To register a team, or for more information to attend or support the day, please contact Anna Farrell via email at anna.farrell@liverpoolfa.com or call 0151 523 4488 (Ext. 110).
