Charter Standard League of the Year – Warrington & District Football League

On the penultimate day announcing winners of this year’s Liverpool FA and McDonald’s Grassroots Football Awards, we’re delighted to reveal the Charter Standard League of the Year; the Warrington & District Football League.

This league currently has 70 teams participate; a figure that has been maintained year upon year. The Warrington & District Football League promotes the Respect campaign and will be looking to establish an under-19 division to provide a stepping stone to open age football. The league is also hoping to set up a few veterans’ leagues and include a programme for nurturing young referees. It is a forward-thinking league that works to improve its standards.

Many teams have joined the Warrington & District League following their original league’s collapse. Over 20 clubs have joined and the league has helped them make the transition. As a league it is committed to maintaining standards and offering football for all.

The league has been in existence for over 110 years and has progressed with the times; something it continues to do whilst working with the local community and charities.

Congratulations to all involved in the Warrington & District Football League.
