2018 Awards Evening

Liverpool FA Award Winners Presented With Accolades

Members of Merseyside’s grassroots football community came together at Liverpool’s Marriott Hotel on Friday 21 September, as the Liverpool County FA hosted its annual awards evening to celebrate the contribution made to the local game.

The evening’s presentation was a combination of The FA and McDonald’s Grassroots Football Awards and the County FA’s own accolades, all of which acknowledge the tireless work of volunteers in ensuring football continues to thrive across the region.

Ian Wild, Chairman of Liverpool County FA, said: “Taking a look around the room last Friday evening, it was immediately apparent why Merseyside’s grassroots game continues to grow. The passion for the game possessed by each individual attending our awards evening is incredible and matched by many others who weren’t in attendance. We feel very fortunate to be able to work with such a dedicated group of people in helping the game to grow across Liverpool and it was a pleasure to recognise the service provided by a number of individuals and projects within our county.

“However, I’d also like to thank every member of our grassroots football community who, whilst not presented with awards this year, are incredibly valued by the team at Walton Hall Park and whose work is hugely appreciated. We look forward to seeing the game grow further throughout the 2018/19 season.”
