Everybody at Liverpool County FA would like to wish the very best of luck to our very own Peter Bankes, as he embarks upon his first season as a Premier League match official.

Peter, who has progressed through the Liverpool FA referee development programme, has been named on the Select Group 1 panel, having been a member of the Select Group 2 panel since it was established three seasons ago.

Last season, Peter served as fourth official for three Premier League games, whilst he was a regular in the middle for a large number of Championship fixtures alongside the League One Play-Off semi-final between Portsmouth and Sunderland.

In addition to his work as a full-time professional match official, Peter still works alongside Liverpool County FA’s referee development team, passing on his knowledge and experience to developing match officials on Merseyside.
