Grassroots Football Awards 2020

GFA 2020 - Grassroots Club Of The Year

Today, we announce the winner of this year's Grassroots Club of the Year award.

This week and next, Liverpool County FA will be announcing the winners of this year’s FA and McDonald’s Grassroots Football Awards (GFA), which acknowledge and celebrate the incredible leagues, clubs and volunteers involved in the game across Merseyside.

During what is a difficult time for so many of us, with grassroots football hit incredibly hard, it is a pleasure to be able to pay tribute to just some of the many factors that make our game so special – and emphasise why, when we can come back, we’ll come back stronger.

GRASSROOTS CLUB OF THE YEAR

It’s with great pleasure that Liverpool County FA congratulates the recipients of this year’s Club of the Year accolade – Litherland REMYCA.

The club as a whole has a fantastic community feel, from under-7s right through to open age and over-35s. They do a great deal with helping where they can within the community, be it with food banks or raising money for charity. There are a great deal of volunteers involved within the club helping for it to be the best it can and give football for all across all ages.

Litherland REMYCA have made a fantastic impact within the community having got hundreds of children involved in the various youth teams, with both boys and girls involved. The youth section has a fantastic end of season get together with all the coaches and players for a proper end of season day.

The work carried out by all the people involved in superb. The volunteers involved are very helpful and so welcoming helping people feel good when they become part of the club. They are also very helpful within the community wherever they can help.

The whole football club from the Chairman down to the players themselves enjoy being part of the club.

Congratulations from everybody at Liverpool County FA.
