Liverpool County FA Safeguarding Conference 2020

Join us for our inaugural Safeguarding Conference at LCFA Sefton on 13 June 2020.

Liverpool County FA is delighted to announce details of our inaugural Safeguarding Conference, which is to take place at LCFA Sefton on Saturday 13 June 2020.

Running between 9am and 3.45pm, this event is a first for Liverpool County FA, as we aim to bring people together for a day of networking, learning and awareness.

The day’s programme will commence with a short anonymous-but-real-life case study that happened recently in the Liverpool area. From this case study, the day will see Kevin Murphy from the NWG Network launch ‘Safe To Play’ in the Liverpool area.

Further details of this will be revealed at the Safeguarding Conference.

Also taking place, a presentation will be delivered by a Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO), accompanied by a colleague from Merseyside Police, which will give you some insight into how and why cases can sometimes be delayed whilst legal process and procedures in safeguarding are followed.

The theme will then shift to mental health and wellbeing, not only of players but also the coaches and volunteers that assist in the running of grassroots football clubs.

Concluding the event will be a Q&A session with all speakers and specialists, before a breakout to network and engage with guests and peers from Merseyside’s grassroots football community.

The event is FREE to attend.

For any questions relating to the event, please contact Gordon Johnson, Designated Safeguarding Officer at Liverpool County FA, via or call 0151 523 4488.
