Liverpool County FA is saddened to learn that local referee Danny Nester has passed away aged 81. 

Danny was a real football stalwart and officiated in Liverpool for many years, particularly in the Belle Vale Junior Football League, whilst he was also involved with Lucas Sports FC.

His love of the game received respect from everyone who met him and he will be a great loss to football in the county. 

Our thoughts and prayers are with Danny’s friends and family. May he rest in peace.
