Planning Approved for New 3G Pitch at LCFA Sefton

New full-size community 3G AGP to be installed at LCFA Sefton.

Liverpool County FA’s planning application for a new full-size community 3G Artificial Grass Pitch (AGP) at LCFA Sefton was last week approved by Sefton Borough Council.

The approval brings the project a significant step closer and also incorporates new changing facilities, improvements to the existing building as well as supporting infrastructure into the community football hub based on Drummond Road, Thornton.

Liverpool County FA Chief Executive Officer Daniel Green said: "Whilst last week’s decision is just another step in our journey, it is a significant one.

"The site has suffered from a lack of investment over a number of years however we’re committed to providing a high-quality community football facility that supports our business and benefits the local community and grassroots football.

“We’ll now work closely with our funding partners to secure the investment needed to deliver this exciting project."

Liverpool County FA has been advised by Steve Wells Associates and has worked closely with Sefton Borough Council and other stakeholders for the past six-months as part of the planning process.

Subject to approval from the Department for Culture, Media & Sport, as well as The FA, LCFA Sefton will reopen for business from Monday 29 March.

LCFA Sefton, supported by a Football Foundation grant, has recently completed the refurbishment of its five-a-side 3G AGPs.
