PGMOL to Host Online Webinar

The latest 'Breaking Barriers' event will focus on the subject of disability in refereeing.

The PGMOL are running a series of webinars as part of the organisation’s wider work and commitment to diversifying the pool of professional referees and Match officials.

The Breaking Barriers series continues on Thursday 13 May at 5pm, with a session on disability in refereeing. The following guest panellists will also be in attendance:

· Nathan Mattick, the first-ever wheelchair user to qualify as a football referee in the UK
· Steve Child, former FIFA assistant referee
· Keith Hill, PGMOL Match Observer

The session will be hosted by former Paralympic athlete and TalkSport and Channel 4 News presenter, Jordan Jarrett-Bryan.

The Breaking Barriers series is a special and important opportunity to hear from leading referees on their journey and advice on getting into the profession.

The series is part of the PGMOL's wider work around equality, diversity and inclusion. Currently, there is a stark under-representation of Black, Asian, LGBT+ people, women, as well as those with disabilities.

The sessions are for people of all backgrounds but will target those from under-represented groups.
