New Referee Development Officer Appointed

Liverpool County FA is delighted to announce the appointment of Natasha Wilson as our new Referee Development Officer.

Natasha succeeds our former Referee Development Manager, David Horlick, who retired earlier this year after 16 years of dedicated service.

Natasha has a background in education and grassroots football and joins Liverpool County FA having held roles at Sheffield & Hallamshire County FA and more recently Leicestershire & Rutland County FA.

As Referee Development Officer at Leicestershire & Rutland County FA, Natasha was responsible for supporting the delivery of the National Game Strategy and specifically, the recruitment, retention and promotion of referees.

An active Referee, Tutor, Mentor and Observer, Natasha has excellent knowledge and understanding of the grassroots game and has a successful track record in recruiting and retaining Referees whilst providing a pathway to support aspiring Referees too.

Outside of work, Natasha volunteers with her local Referee Association, RA-FA Youth Council as well as coaching capacities within the female game.

“I'm delighted to be joining the team at Liverpool County FA,” said Natasha.

“I’m passionate and committed to supporting and developing Referees and the wider Referee workforce to ensure that every Referee has the necessary support to reach their potential, whatever level in the game.”

Steven Swinnerton, Liverpool County FA Football Services Manager, added: “I’m delighted to be able to welcome Natasha to the team. Throughout the recruitment process, Natasha has demonstrated a real passion for Refereeing and I’m confident Natasha will be a great asset to our team and our Referees.”

“This is an important role for the grassroots game locally and so we look forward to Natasha’s arrival later this month.”

Natasha will officially join Liverpool County FA on Monday 7 June 2021.

In the interim, all Referee enquiries should be directed to steven.swinnerton@liverpoolfa.com.
