Volunteering opportunities at GFS Anfield

GFS Anfield are looking for volunteers to help young women and girls

Girls Friendly Society (GFS) have announced the opening of a centre in Anfield in November, where girls and young women will have the opportunity to meet new friends and be themselves.

The sessions will be full of fun activities, such as crafts and life skills, along with trips out in order to help confidence and self-esteem.

The GFS groups provide a space for girls to feel safe and valued, so that they can build strong foundations that will prepare them for all of life’s challenges.

GFS are looking for volunteers for their 7-11 age group, with sessions taking place on Thursdays from 6:15pm to 7:45pm at Anfield Community Sports Centre.

GFS volunteers are women who want to deliver fun and inspiring sessions to girls and young women so they can be unstoppable!

A volunteer commented: “Being a GFS Leader means having the opportunity to enable young women and girls to have a place of activity they can call their own. Friendships are formed between girls, their families and the leaders which can last the rest of their lives. It gives a sense of satisfaction to see girls blossom and grow in confidence and gives them a sense of self-worth."
