Anna Farrell

Anna Farrell appointed Interim Football Development Manager

Liverpool FA are delighted to announce Anna Farrell, our Football Development Officer, as our new Interim Football Development Manager.

Anna will succeed Tony Smith, who has recently been appointed as Interim CEO.

Spanning over 13 years working in our Football Development Team, Anna has previously held roles overseeing Education, Clubs & Leagues and Disability Football, and most recently overseeing our Female Football Pathway and Marketing & Communications.

Working for the Association, Anna has supported the development of grassroots football across Merseyside for the benefit of players, clubs, leagues, coaches and referees. Her work alongside our clubs and leagues has seen female football flourish across Merseyside. Her hard work has led to more females are playing the game, an increase in investment to support the development of teams, leagues and programmes and ensuring that we have a complete player pathway, and opportunities for players of all ages.

Anna’s previous role of overseeing Women's & Girls' Football will be filled by one of our young volunteers Ellie Fox. Ellie already has a wealth of experience in the game locally, having coached and volunteered in LCFA programmes.

"I’m delighted to be given this opportunity to lead our Football Development Team," said Anna.

"Together with my colleagues, we will continue to provide ongoing support to all of our grassroots community. I’m looking forward to further developing our game in Merseyside and ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to play football. I also wish Ellie the best of luck in her new role, and I know our Clubs and Leagues will support her all the way.”

Anna took up her new post on Monday 25th July and Ellie will commence in her new role on Monday 1st August.
