Disability Football

The Merseyside area has a celebrated reputation of establishing and supporting local disability football through clubs, leagues, schools, coaches and players.

The level of funding that has been accessed locally and nationally to support disability football specific projects is one of the highest in the country and is testament to the hard work and ambition of Liverpool County FA and our Merseyside partners.

Liverpool County FA are focused on providing all disabled people with a pathway to reach their potential as a player, coach, referee or administrator. In 2010 with the support of Big Lottery Reaching Communities Funding, the Liverpool County FA employed their first full time Disability Football Development Officer. The aim of this role is to increase football opportunities for people with disabilities across Merseyside.
