Corinthians Win LCFA Walking Football League

This year saw Liverpool County FA launch a brand-new Walking Football League, which was won in its inaugural year by Kendall’s Corinthians E.F.C.

Following a hugely successful league, which saw ten teams competing at Goals Liverpool North, the monthly fixtures provided great entertainment for all involved, as well as good-spirited competitiveness.

Teams from Wigan, Warrington and Fleetwood were all involved in the competition, alongside numerous teams from Merseyside.

Runners-up in the 2017 Walking Football League were Wigan Walkers F.C.

On Sunday 11 June, Liverpool County FA will be overseeing a presentation day at Goals Liverpool North, in Netherton, which will get underway at 10.30am.

Stuart Carrington, Football Development Officer at Liverpool FA, said: “It has been a very successful over-50s Walking Football League, with everybody playing football in the right spirit of how the game should be played. All teams that participated were first class in terms of their attitude and the way that they conducted themselves.

“We will be having a tournament on 11 June, which will take place ahead of our presentations. We’ll then look forward to the new league getting underway in September, which will run over two divisions.”
