Leagues & Clubs

FOOTBALL AND merseyside HAVE A LONG AND PROUD HISTORY

League football in merseyside is thriving.

There are currently 50 affiliated and sanctioned leagues through Liverpool FA which include competitive football in organised Adult, Youth, Mini Soccer, Disability, Futsal and Small Sided Leagues.

Liverpool FA understands the importance of leagues and their role in providing a safe and structured environment that allows everyone connected with the game to enjoy their participation in it. Our commitment is demonstrated in the creation of a Youth and Adult League Forums. Such forums ensure that Liverpool FA can identify areas of support that are required to help the league thrive and to be a first point of contact to all league officials seeking advice or help.

There are currently over 800 member clubs that facilitate over 3200 teams which make up the membership of Liverpool FA, each of whom are involved in regular league football. In addition, there are also hundreds of other teams registered at several FA affiliated small sided football centres across the city.

From mini-soccer clubs that provide a platform that supports the development and enjoyment of our very youngest players, to the adult game which spans across small-sided football, amateur, semi pro and of course the professional game. Grassroots football in Liverpool will thrive because of several influencing factors, but our clubs and those individuals who are dedicated and committed to help run them are the heartbeat of a successful grassroots game.

FACILITY DEVELOPMENT

If you are intending to improve your football facilities (which may involve 3G football turf pitches, changing room pavilions/clubhouses,  grass pitch improvements or better indoor/outdoor spaces) please contact Tony Smith on 0151 523 4488 (Ext. 119) or email anthony.smith@liverpoolfa.com so that we can provide advice and guidance.

Following this, you may be asked to complete an Expression of Interest (EOI) form which can be found at the link below.

Please note if you have already started work on your project (for example, building/construction has already begun), then it is unlikely that your project will be eligible for funding.

Respect

The FA's Respect programme provides a series of tools for leagues, clubs, coaches, players and parents from grassroots to elite football - to help ensure a safe, positive environment in which to play the game.
