Mighty Red Drops In on South Sefton Primary Festival

Girls from ten primary schools within Merseyside were treated to a pleasant surprise at last week’s South Sefton Girls Primary Year 5 and 6...
Taking place on Friday 13 October, Mighty Red attended the festival held at Goals Liverpool North.

90 girls were involved in the festival, representing their schools in a 6-a-side competition which saw all players show great respect as they took part in some fantastic games which showcased some brilliant skills.

As a result, the festival generated a terrific atmosphere, which saw a huge number of smiles on players’ faces as everybody involved had great fun.

Those smiles widened as Mighty Red made an appearance, handing out the winners’ medals to Our Lady of Walsingham before delivering gifts to all 90 players, their teachers and parents in attendance.

Anna Farrell, Liverpool County FA’s Women and Girls Football Development Officer, said: “We are delighted to be able to organise these festivals in partnership with South Sefton SSP and Goals Liverpool North, which aim to increase the number of girls playing football in education.

“It’s great that Mighty Red can attend and for Liverpool Football Club to show their support to our local girls’ football programme.”
