Following the success of last season’s Groundsman of the Year Awards, we are now asking people involved in grassroots football across Merseyside to nominate their Groundsman of the Year for the 2017/18 awards.

All nominations will be submitted to Liverpool County FA, who will take time to judge their top three playing surfaces across the region from nominations received, and supply this to The FA for judging by their panel for the final awards, which take place later in the year.

Groundsman across grassroots football on Merseyside are almost all volunteers, and dedicate hours of their time to provide the best pitches possible utilising limited resources. The Groundsman of the Year competition is a great way for these volunteers to be recognised on a local and national level, whilst providing an opportunity for groundsmen to meet and talk with the professional groundsmen that conduct the judging.
