Each day this week, Liverpool County FA will be announcing the local winners of this year’s FA and McDonald’s Grassroots Football Awards, which recognise the hard-work, dedication and commitment of the individuals, clubs and leagues across the nation’s grassroots football community.

Match Official of the Year – Jacob Viera

Huge congratulations to the winner of 2018’s Match Official of the Year, Jacob Viera.

A hugely-committed referee, Jacob’s work ethic and determination have seen him progress through the referee development programme with Liverpool County FA. He is progressive in his approach to officiating games, respectful and always fair and impartial to both teams playing in games he oversees.

The dedication that Jacob has shown to grassroots football in Liverpool is second-to-none, whilst everybody he comes into contact with has nothing but positive things to say about Jacob and his work as a referee.
