Liverpool FA To Host Fourth Safeguarding Event of 2018/19
Liverpool County FA is pleased to announce that, in partnership with Liverpool Football Club, it is to host its fourth ‘Introduction to Excellence in Safeguarding’ event, which is open to ALL junior football club Welfare Officers and colleagues from clubs based within Merseyside.
Taking place in Anfield Stadium’s Main Stand on Monday 3 December, the event will run from 6.30pm (for 7.00pm start) to an estimated 9.30pm close.
The evening will afford junior football club Welfare Officers and colleagues with the opportunity to meet and network with former professional players and SAVE ambassadors Paul Stewart, David White and Ian Ackley, in order to explore the possibility of enhancing their club status and standing with regards to the safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults engaged with their club.
Gordon Johnson, Designated Safeguarding Officer at Liverpool FA, said: “Following on from two successful evenings already held in Liverpool and Warrington, together with a third event already planned in Southport on Monday 26 November, our Association continues to support all initiatives aimed at keeping kids involved in football safe – and ensure their continued enjoyment of the game. This will be our fourth event run in conjunction with SAVE, which we hope will be beneficial to our affiliated clubs currently playing in the Liverpool city area’s junior football leagues.”
Lorna Duckworth, Liverpool Football Club’s Safeguarding and Equality Officer, added: “The safeguarding of young participants in football should be a priority for all. Liverpool Football Club is pleased to be able to work in conjunction with our local County FA and host the Excellence in Safeguarding event, together with SAVE, on 3 December 2018.
