Girls' Football League Launched In Warrington
Liverpool County FA is pleased to reveal that the Warrington Junior Football League has launched a brand-new girls’ league for the 2019/20 season.
Recognised as the biggest league in the North West, the development of a girls’ football provision is one that is being met with huge excitement ahead of the 2019/20 season – particularly following the surge in popularity of female football following this summer’s World Cup.
Confirmed for the new season are divisions for the following age groups:
- Under-9
- Under-11
- Under-13
Games will be played on a home and away basis, with fixtures taking place on alternate days to the boys’ divisions.
Teams interested in becoming part of the new Warrington Junior Football League’s girls’ provision can register now.
Entries for ALL age groups from Under-7s through to Under-16s will be accepted up to the end of August 2019. The non-competitive age groups – Under-7s to Under-11s 0 will accept new entries at any time throughout the season.

Girls’ football is the fastest-growing format of football across our region, and with leagues like the Warrington Junior League backing the game, it will ultimately provide girls with more opportunities to play the game in a fun and safe environment.”
For any club interested in developing a female provision, please contact Anna – as several opportunities will be available over the coming months, including the 2020 SSE Wildcats Centre programme and the FA’s Female Friendly Club workshop.
