FA Charter Standard

Adult Clubs - Apply for FA Charter Standard Status Now

Adult clubs affiliated to the Liverpool County FA can now apply to obtain The FA’s Charter Standard Club status – and with it gain a £100 kit voucher and 10 Nike match balls.

The FA Charter Standard accreditation is for clubs that are proud to be the places that people want to play and enjoy grassroots football. The programme aims to raise standards in the grassroots game, supporting the development of clubs and leagues, as well as recognising and rewarding commitment and achievement.

There are a number of eligibility criteria that all clubs must be able to demonstrate in order to apply and achieve FA Charter Standard Club status.

As a minimum, all clubs MUST:

  • Be affiliated to a County FA
  • Have at least one team in a league sanctioned by The FA
  • Have a bank account in the club’s name; recommended for single-team clubs and mandatory for clubs with more than team
  • Provide a financial statement approved by the club’s committee
  • Have a disciplinary record within The FA Respect discipline threshold (if club has been in existence for more than one season)
  • Operate within a set of club rules
  • Have a club equality policy
  • Adopt The FA Respect code of conduct
  • Meet the annual commitment set out in the application form
  • Have a first aider for each team, with an in-date FA Level 1 Introduction to First Aid in Football (IFAiF); if the first aider is a player, an additional first aider is required
  • Complete the Club Planning Document, available by clicking below.

If your club has all of the above in place, then you can apply to become an FA Charter Standard club.

Upon successfully obtaining The FA Charter Standard Club status, clubs will receive:

  • 2018/19 club certificate
  • £100 kit voucher
  • 10 Nike match balls
  • New ‘Proud to Be’ promotional digital resources, including updated logo
  • On-going support from The FA and County FA

Should your club need any support in achieving The FA Charter Standard Club status, don’t worry! Liverpool County FA’s officers are on hand to help you and your club.
