Team becomes league champions; despite playing against teams an age group above it.

Crosfields Junior Football Club’s Under-15 girls’ team are celebrating being crowned league champions –having played against teams an age group above them all season.

If that wasn’t incredible enough, Crosfields Under-15s needed a win in their final game of the season to clinch the title. With six minutes of the game remaining against Holmes Chapel Hurricanes, Crosfields were 1-0 down. However a quick-fire double flipped the scoreline in Crosfields’ favour, with the team emerging league champions courtesy of a 2-1 win.

Over the years, the team – under the guidance of manager Stewart Whittaker and assistant Dale Picton – has progressed well, winning titles at younger age groups. However, winning the league title in a season competing against older players goes down as an incredible achievement for the team and club.

Everybody at Liverpool County FA would like to congratulate the Stewart, Dale and each member of the team on their league title success.
