Local young referee forms part of 12-strong national panel.

Everybody associated with Liverpool County FA would like to congratulate Merseyside referee Callum Jones, who has been elected to the FA’s Young Referee Development Team.

The National Young Referee Development Team is a group of 12 young people working to support young referees across the country through the delivery of effective programmes. The team is dedicated to supporting referees nationally via training, developing and support – both on and off the field.

Callum Jones“I am delighted to be joining The FA and Referees’ Association’s Young Referee Development Team,” said Callum, pictured third from left.

“Having been on board with Liverpool County FA assisting Dave and Ian with the Liverpool Development Group, I decided to apply for the role. I felt that it would assist in improving my ability to develop referees locally, as I would be doing so on a national level.

“I’m really looking forward to working with the other 11 members of the team, the national FA and the Referees’ Association to help deliver development projects across the country. Being part of the Liverpool FA Referee Development Team has been fantastic and I’ve found it really rewarding so far this season. To experience other County Football Associations and how they develop referees is something I’m looking forward to.

“I hope that the Liverpool County FA Referee Development Group will really benefit from me taking on this role.”

Well done, Callum!
