Recently, Liverpool County FA was pleased to be able to provide some spare kit and football equipment to SUPPORT our very own referee, Jacob Viera, IN HIS SUPPORT Education Center in Kenya.

The Legacy Education Center (LEC) is a non-profit organisation connected to the Kenyan government designed to provide advocacy, women’s and youth empowerment programmes and education opportunities for the most vulnerable children in Kenya.

Being the country of his birth, Jacob put us in contact with the LEC to find out more about the work that it was doing and to provide support during a particularly difficult time as, like the rest of the world, Kenya adapts to the impact of coronavirus. 

A key part of the centre’s work is to engage with young people growing up amid a backdrop of violence, using the power of sport as a tool to do so.

Jacob was able to put smiles on faces by providing pairs of football boots and training bibs
