REFS SELECTED FOR CUP FINAL

We’re delighted to reveal that two Liverpool County FA referees have been appointed to officiate at this year’s women’s Continental Cup Final.

Merseyside’s Helen Byrne and Magda Golba (both pictured top) have both been appointed assistant referees for this year’s final, which takes place at Nottingham Forest’s City Ground on 29 February 2020 between Arsenal and Chelsea (5.30pm kick-off).

All at the County FA wish you the best of luck and we’re incredibly proud of this achievement for two of our top-quality match officials. Well done.

MENTAL HEALTH GUIDANCE FOR REFEREES

The FA has launched guidance on mental health and wellbeing for referees and those who support them.

The guidance will help people spot the signs of poor mental health in themselves and others and gives practical self-care advice and suggested support that can be offered.  It advises on how to signpost to specialist help and there are some useful tips to help referees manage the stress that can sometimes occur.

The guidance can be downloaded by clicking here

DBS & SAFEGUARDING QUALIFICATIONS

A very important reminder to ALL Liverpool County FA registered referees that, in order to referee football matches from 2020/21, you will require an up-to-date DBS check and a current, in-date FA Safeguarding Children certificate.

Do not leave it too late.

All referees are encouraged to check the status of your current DBS checks and Safeguarding Children certificates now online, via the Whole Game System by clicking here

If you can’t access your Whole Game account, please email david.horlick@liverpoolfa.com

Should your Safeguarding Children certificate be out-of-date by SIX MONTHS or less, you can renew it online at no cost.

Please click here for more information on all the qualifications you need to hold and how to obtain them.

REFEREE REGISTRATION FOR 2020-21

We can now confirm the date that registrations for the new season will open ahead of the 2020-21 campaign.

Liverpool County FA will be inviting registrations for referees for the new season from Monday 1 June.

For any enquiries relating to referee registration ahead of the window opening, please email david.horlick@liverpoolfa.com

CONGRATULATIONS

Everybody at Liverpool County FA would like to congratulate three referees, who are in line to undertake the next stage of their referee development.

Well done to Adam Sefton, Chris Mooney and Joe Sconce, who have been nominated for the FA Centre of Referee Excellence programme.

The team at Walton Hall Park wish you all the very best of luck.
