Liverpool County FA Referee Update - January 2020

The latest update from the Liverpool County FA Referee Department.

Welcome to the first Liverpool County FA Referee Update of 2020.

Below is the latest news and information for referees registered across the county and, as always, if you have any questions or require assistance, please email david.horlick@liverpoolfa.com

DBS & SAFEGUARDING QUALIFICATIONS

A very important reminder to ALL Liverpool County FA registered referees that, in order to referee football matches from 2020/21, you will require an up-to-date DBS check and a current, in-date FA Safeguarding Children certificate.

Do not leave it too late.

All referees are encouraged to check the status of your current DBS checks and Safeguarding Children certificates now online, via the Whole Game System by clicking here

If you can’t access your Whole Game account, please email david.horlick@liverpoolfa.com

Should your Safeguarding Children certificate be out-of-date by SIX MONTHS or less, you can renew it online at no cost.

Please click here for more information on all the qualifications you need to hold and how to obtain them.

CONGRATULATIONS BEN

Everybody at Liverpool County FA would like to congratulate our very own referee Ben Speedie.

Ben is a Level 2a Panel Select Referee who has been appointed to the PGMOL’s Dallas Cup referee team. As a result, Ben will be officiating at high-level matches in the prestigious Dallas Cup.

Well done on your appointment from all at the County FA, Ben.

WELL DONE CALLUM & ELLIOTT

Everyone at Liverpool County FA would also like to congratulate two of our young referees, and members of our Referee Development Group, who have been chosen to officiate at a prestigious tournament.

Callum Jones and Elliott Bell will oversee games at the Under-16 International Tournament at St George’s Park on 24 February.

Best of luck to both and well done on your appointments.

COUNTY FA SELECTED TO HOST EXCHANGE PROGRAMME

Liverpool County FA is delighted to announce that we have been selected to host the UEFA/FA Referee Exchange Development Programme this year.

Taking place on 27, 28 and 29 March 2020, Liverpool County FA will host referees from the Northern Ireland FA and will be working with three leagues who provide excellent games for the referees to officiate; the Liverpool County Premier League, the Liverpool Business House League and Liverpool Sunday League.

We are very grateful to the leagues, clubs and players for their support to the scheme. Without them, the programme simply wouldn’t work.

REFEREES TO HEAD TO SPAIN

In June, Liverpool County FA will be sending three referees and a referee coach to the exciting Iber Cup, which is played on the Costa del Sol.

Liverpool County FA is now in the process of selecting referees and will communicate the names of those successful in due course.

MEN – GET YOURSELF CHECKED

Liverpool County FA is proud to support the work carried out by Prostate Cancer UK and encourages all of our male referees to discuss any health issues you may be worried about.

If you are concerned about prostate cancer or prostate problems the charity can help.

They have specialist nurses available between 10am and 4pm Monday-Friday and 7am-9pm on Wednesdays.

Call 0800 074 8383 (mobile charges may vary, free on UK landlines).

Alternatively click here to visit the Prostate Cancer UK website, which is packed full of information.

Don’t leave things to chance – be sure to get yourself checked.
