Frank Doran Sr.

County FA saddened to learn of the passing of 'Mr Bootle'.

All at Liverpool County FA have been saddened to learn of the passing of a veteran servant to grassroots football across our county, Frank Doran Senior.

Known by many as the President of Bootle Football Club, Frank was affectionately called ‘Mr Bootle’ for the impact he made on football within his local community.

His booming voice, quick wit and passion for football were Frank’s trademarks.

Frank was a docker, but for him, football was the most important thing. He was part of the 1954 Langton Football Club side that became the current incarnation of Bootle Football Club.

Frank drove the club forward as a player, manager, secretary, chairman, groundsman – and many other roles – before latterly becoming President of the club.

Up until last December, Frank could be seen working around the club. His memory will be eternal in Bootle, as well as with all that knew him.

Everyone at Liverpool County FA would like to send our heartfelt condolences to Frank’s family and those closest to him at this sad time.

Rest in peace, Frank.
