The Liverpool County FA Referees’ Department is delighted to launch the promotion scheme for the 2021/22 season.

Whether your ambition is to become a successful grassroots official or even to become a Premier League Referee, all referees will begin as a 'Level T/9 – Trainee Referee' as they gain experience of officiating adult male and female football matches.

Starting off with refereeing grassroots football is a brilliant way to build confidence, make local connections and also improve your skillset.

If you wish, you can then apply for promotion, which is the first step to officiating at a higher level.

During the promotion process, you'll receive feedback from experienced Referee Observers who'll give you tips to help you improve your refereeing. You'll also have the opportunity to attend high-quality in-service training events, as well as having the chance to join the Liverpool FA Centre of Refereeing Excellence.
