LIVERPOOL COUNTY FA IS DELIGHTED TO ANNOUNCE THE APPOINTMENT OF LYSTRA LANDON AS OUR NEW DESIGNATED SAFEGUARDING OFFICER.
Lystra will succeed our former Designated Safeguarding Officer, Gordon Johnson, who departed Liverpool County FA last month.
Lystra joins Liverpool County FA from Shropshire FA where she is the current Designated Safeguarding Officer and responsible for the implementation and delivery of all safeguarding policy and procedure.
Prior to joining Shropshire FA, Lystra held the role of Designated Safeguarding Officer at Cheshire FA and so joins the team at Liverpool County FA with an excellent knowledge and understanding of safeguarding legislation within the grassroots game.
Previously, Lystra has worked within Local Government and specifically Children’s Social Care. At Halton Borough Council, Lystra worked as part of the Fostering Service and Children In Need Team.
Outside of work, Lystra volunteers with her local grassroots club.
"As a safeguarding practitioner with 20 years of experience, I am passionate about safeguarding, football and inclusion,” said Lystra.
“I welcome this opportunity with Liverpool FA and look forward to working with committed volunteers, ensuring football is safe and fun for all.”
Daniel Green, Liverpool County FA Chief Executive Officer, added: “I’m delighted to be able to welcome Lystra to the team. Throughout the recruitment process, Lystra has demonstrated a broad range of knowledge, experience and expertise that will prove a valuable asset to both Liverpool County FA and the grassroots game, locally.
“This is an important role for both the business and grassroots football. We look forward to Lystra’s arrival later this month. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank our former Designated Safeguarding Officer, Gordon Johnson, for his service to the County FA and work safeguarding participants across Merseyside, and wish him the best of luck in the future.”
Lystra will officially join Liverpool County FA on the 12 March 2021, initially on a part-time basis. She will commence her role full time from the 12 April 2021.
