The FA launch free online Safeguarding Awareness for Parents and Carers course

Parents and Carers can take this free short course on England Football Learning.

We recommend parents and carers take this free short course to help make informed choices about the football setting you enrol your child in.

Upon completion of the course, you’ll be able to print an FA Safeguarding Certificate that will appear on your FA ‘FAN’ account. You can return to the course to refresh your knowledge at any time.

Liverpool FA encourages all spectators, volunteers and parents/carers of young people playing in grassroots football to take the course by clicking here. In addition, The FA will be contacting every grassroots club asking them to support this initiative by encouraging all club parents/carers to take the course.

Designated Safeguarding Officer Lisa Morrison said “This free course is a real must for all parents/carers and spectators in all areas of the game and provides an understanding of not just safeguarding, but also how to recognise what safeguards should be in place at your child’s club, as well as information on being able to recognise signs of abuse and how to report concerns.

"The course is part of The FA’s 3 year strategy Building an Ever Safer Culture, and Liverpool FA are encouraging every parent/carer to take this free 30-minute online course to support our work to improve the playing environment for young people and make football safe not sorry.”

The course can be done in small pieces or as a whole course and on completion you can print your FA Certificate.

Please spread the message among your community to help generate greater awareness of safeguarding in football.
