FA Welfare Officer Workshop

Welfare Officer Training dates announced

We're running three workshops for Welfare Officers over the next few weeks.

If you're a Welfare Officer at a Club or League, we'd love you to come along for these workshops to gain some valuable skills which will help you in your role.

Workshop details:

Safeguarding 365 Briefing

Thursday 24th November 2022 (6-7pm) - Online

This session is aimed at updating and improving Welfare Officers' knowledge of Safeguarding 365 and how this impacts on their roles.

Safeguarding 365 is the national operating standard set out by the Football Association, and to which every County FA is measured against. It was launched in 2017 following the Sheldon enquiry into historic sexual abuse of children, with the aim being to ensure football is child-centred and free from abuse.

October 2022 has seen an amendment to some of the evidence required by County FAs which needs to be communicated across the network of volunteers.

Managing Conflict

Monday 19th December 2022 (6-7pm) - LCFA Sefton (limited to 30 spaces)

In this session we will consider the challenges and behaviours of adults during matches, and what changes could be made to enable better management of pitch-side behaviour.

We will also look to offer support and seek ideas from Welfare Officers on this issue.

Neglect and the Impact on Child Development

Monday 9th January 2023 (6-7pm) - Online

The aim of this session is to share knowledge and research about the issue of neglect of children and how this impacts child development. We will also explore how we better support those children within grassroots football.

To book onto any of these sessions, please email our Designated Safeguarding Officer, Lisa Morrison, on Lisa.Morrison@LiverpoolFA.com
