LCFA Sefton Drummond Road entrance announcement

An announcement on works to the LCFA Sefton Drummond Road entrance

Liverpool County FA Sefton CIC are delighted to announce today that we will shortly be going to contract tender, to commence works to the Drummond Road entrance.

A cause of frustration for many, LCFA Sefton have been working hard behind the scenes with Sefton Council, and the Sefton Highways team, since acquiring the site in November 2019.

As this area is not owned or leased by Liverpool County FA Sefton or Sefton Council, and sits as an unadopted area of land; negotiations have been ongoing for some time. Liverpool County FA Sefton can now announce that we will be putting significant investment into the works, to create a safe and suitable access area for our staff, customers and site users. Sefton Council will then adopt the completed road into their Highways, to ensure it is maintained suitably into the future.

Liverpool FA CEO, Tony Smith, said “We are delighted that agreements have been made with Sefton Council, and although this road does not come under our jurisdiction, we were adamant that it would be resurfaced to a high standard in order to create a safe and inviting environment to all of our site users.”

The works order will now go to public tender, and Liverpool FA Sefton will be encouraging local businesses whom can fit the criteria, to submit bids.

We are hopeful works will commence in July, and be completed by August. Please direct any questions or queries to LCFA Sefton at Anthony.Smith@LiverpoolFA.com
