Inclusion in football

How You Can Help Us Shape Merseyside Grassroots Football

We’re encouraging our community to update their profile and share EDI information to help shape and develop football locally.

At Liverpool FA, we strongly believe that football is a game for all.

As we work to grow and develop the game, we would like our existing grassroots community to join us in embracing equality, diversity and inclusion – and help us shape the future of football within the county.

Equality, Diversity and Inclusion covers so many attributes, far beyond ethnic background and religion. It includes gender, age, ability and so much more that we can draw from to better understand the make-up of our grassroots community.

By completing the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) section via MyAccount, you have the ability to shape the future of football in Merseyside.

How? Simply by updating your profile on My Account.

The process takes only 30 seconds, but can provide insight that delivers a lasting impact. The data submitted is anonymised and we will not receive any personal details. Personal details won’t be shared, solely the responses you provide on the EDI section.

Why Does This Information Matter?

Representation
By sharing EDI information, you’re working towards ensuring that football is a game for everyone in the county, no matter their background. The details you share enables us to better understand the demographics of those involved in football. That lets us tailor programmes to meet the needs of players, coaches, referees and volunteers.

Informed Decision Making
Information provides us with insight that allows for informed decision making. Thanks to your EDI information, we can identify where there are gaps in representation, address political biases, and design initiatives and programmes that promote fairness and equality.

Creation of Inclusion Programmes
We believe that all football programmes should be inclusive and accessible to all. The information you share assists in developing coaching sessions, training materials, and events that cater to diverse communities, making everyone feel valued and welcome.

Measuring Progress
This marks the starting point of a journey. Over time, we can track and progress improvements in diversity and inclusion work, celebrate achievements and identify areas that still require work.
