If you are aged 16 or above and are officiating in youth football, to be safeguarding compliant, you must have an in-date, FA Accepted, DBS Check and in date safeguarding course, which can be found here.

A step-by-step DBS completion guide for Referees can be found in the Related Documents section at the bottom of this page.

If you are an U18 referee, please see the Safeguarding Communication for U18 Referees document in the Related Documents section at the bottom of the page.

Yellow Armband Initiative for U18s

Liverpool County FA is backing the yellow armband initiative which serves as a visual reminder that, before questioning every decision, this referee is subject to children's safeguarding legislation and should therefore be protected, encouraged and treated with respect.

'When I ref, spectators can shout a lot and this can make me lose confidence. This is a perfect opportunity to embrace the yellow armband campaign, to listen to our young referees and take a stand.'
