GOALS score with new partnership in Liverpool

GOALS and Liverpool County FA have agreed a partnership sharing a common vision and mission when it comes to the beautiful game.

We are delighted to announce a new partnership between Liverpool FA and GOALS.

Under guidance from Liverpool FA, GOALS have committed a gift of space at their facilities for projects including; training, development and recruitment of referees and coaches. Both organizations will also work together to increase participation in Women’s football, veterans’ football, walking football, and work to provide pathways into the sport for those with protected characteristics.

Martin Cassidy, National Football Development Officer at Goals stated: “This partnership fits perfectly into Goals mission statement which is to provide equal access to premium small-sided football facilities, whilst promoting physical and mental well-being and community spirit through football.

"Although we, as a national stakeholder in football have not affiliated with the FA for some years, we feel that due to the changes in the landscape of small-side football and the demands of the modern game, now is the perfect time to work closely with other stakeholders including The FA and County FA’s to grow the game as part of the strategy for 2024-2028. We know that grass roots football for many starts in the small-sided realm, and we believe that Goals can have a huge and positive impact on the game in all its forms that will deliver positive and measurable outcomes for all.”

Anthony Smith, CEO of Liverpool FA added: “Joining our hands with likeminded organisations is key to the ongoing development of the grassroots game, both for the players and the vast number of volunteers whom keep it operating. We’re excited to watch the opportunities develop between Liverpool FA and Goals, increase the participation opportunities For All”
