Marine to Face Holders Prescot Cables in Senior Cup Final

Marine are to face holders Prescot Cables in the 2017/18 Liverpool County FA Senior Cup Final, which is to be held at the Marine Travel Arena on Thursday 26 April, kicking off at 7.45pm.

Evo-Stik Northern Premier League side Marine defeated Widnes Football Club 2-1 in the semi-final stage of the competition, whilst Evo-Stick North promotion contenders Prescot Cables overcame Litherland Remyca 4-0 on Thursday 19 April to take them one step further to successfully defend the cup.

Last year’s final saw Prescot Cables lift the Senior Cup for the first time in the club’s history, overcoming National League Southport to emerge winners.

Admission to the game is £6 for adults and £3 for concessions. Unfortunately, the half-price offers and free admission to children aged 11 and under usually provided for Marine’s league fixtures will NOT be in effect for this game. All admission is on the gate.

Admission to the ground for all supporters will be via Turnstiles 1 and 2 on College Road – and Turnstiles 3 and 4, which are accessible via the car park at the front of the stadium.

Supporters of both clubs are advised to arrive at the ground early to reduce delays at the turnstiles. All turnstiles open at 6.45pm and the Arriva Suite will be open to all fans, providing the usual clubroom facilities.

Dave Pugh, Chief Executive Officer at Liverpool FA, said: “Both clubs have had some pretty tough fixtures throughout the cup; Marine knocking Tranmere Rovers out and Everton succumbing to Prescot Cables, so we’re in for a very interesting final.

“We’re all looking forward to an exciting evening between two local non-league clubs from Merseyside.”
